Given the expected high level of continuing activity relating to financial regulation in the new Congress and the Trump Administration, CII plans to hold bi-monthly teleconferences on this topic. The purpose of these standing 30-minute calls is to: (1) share information with CII members on current financial regulatory developments and related CII advocacy efforts; and (2) coordinate, to the extent possible, CII advocacy efforts on financial regulation with those of CII members and other interested parties.
This call will feature Sanjai Bhagat, Provost Professor of Finance at the University of Colorado. Sanjai will provide insight on his approach to bank capital requirements, how it compares with the capital provisions in the pending Financial Choice Act, and why his approach may be more effective than certain core elements of Dodd-Frank, including the Volker Rule.
The call will be moderated by CII General Counsel Jeff Mahoney.
