Given the expected high level of continuing activity relating to financial regulation in Congress and the Trump Administration, CII plans to hold monthly teleconferences on this topic. The purpose of these standing 30-minute calls is to: (1) share information with CII members on current financial regulatory developments and related CII advocacy efforts; and (2) coordinate, to the extent possible, CII advocacy efforts on financial regulation with those of CII members and other interested parties. This month’s call will include guest speakers: Professors Clair A. Hill and Richard W. Painter from the University of Minnesota Law School. Professors Hill and Painter will discuss draft legislation being circulated in the United States Senate to amend the federal securities laws “[t]o ensure that irresponsible corporate executives, rather than shareholders, pay fines and penalties.”
The call will be moderated by CII General Counsel Jeff Mahoney.
