International Corporate Governance Printer Friendly Version

The Council believes good corporate governance is a universal goal that all public companies should embrace. As Council member funds invest more of their assets outside the United States, they are increasingly interested in the governance of companies around the world. To help members stay informed, the Council has launched a broad effort to educate members about international corporate governance.

For members interested in brief introductions to corporate governance in specific countries or regions, the Council is conducting an ongoing series of podcast interviews with governance experts from markets around the globe. We also host periodic teleconferences for members on the latest international corporate governance developments, such as the Satyam scandal in India.

The primary international activities of the Council are driven by the Council’s Ad Hoc Committee on International Governance Issues. Committee members contribute news items for the Council’s new quarterly international corporate governance newsletter. Our international issues e-mail listserv also serves as an active forum for interested members to share information about global corporate governance and tap international governance experts. To sign up for the international issues listserv, please go to the member login page, log in and click on the Listserv page and follow the instructions. For more information about corporate governance outside the United States, please visit the International Resources page of our site's Governance Web Links section.

If you have a question about international corporate governance, want to contribute to or get the Council’s international newsletter or if you would like to suggest a topic for the International Governance Committee to explore, please contact Council analyst Jonathan Urick at (202) 261-7096 or jonathan@cii.org.
