Teleconference: The Upcoming Decision in the Omnicare, Inc. v. Laborers District Council Construction Industry Pension Fund Case and How Institutional Investors Can Get Involved
CII staff will host a teleconference on Wednesday, August 20, from 11-11:30 AM ET on the upcoming Supreme Court decision in the Omnicare case, its potential implications for institutional investors and how CII member funds may get more involved. Members will hear from legal experts and the author of a pending amicus curiae brief in support of the respondents in this case and will have an opportunity to ask questions.

Register Now for Corporate Governance 101!
 
WHAT- Corporate Governance 101 is an introductory course for those who are new to corporate governance or are interested in learning more about the basics. It is a pilot program, the first of an array of educational courses that CII plans to develop.

Sessions will cover topics including: why corporate governance matters, proxy voting and other ways shareowners exercise oversight, the role of the board and regulators. Please see the agenda for more details and a list of presenters.

WHEN - Monday, September 29, from 9 AM to 1 PM PT at the Millennium Biltmore Hotel in Los Angeles.

WHO - Corporate Governance 101 is open to all members - General Members, Educational Sustainers and Honorary International Participants - but participation is limited. It is recommended that only one person (employee or trustee) from a member organization attend.
 
HOW - This training takes place prior to the start of the fall conference, which kicks off at 4 PM PT on Monday, September 29. Individuals attending both events must register separately for each. This is a basic introduction to corporate governance so preference will be given to individuals with limited experience. Please contact Glenn Davis at Glenn@cii.org or 202.261.7097 to register.
