In Case You Missed It - Universal Proxy Card Letter
Last week, members of CII's Advisory Council co-signed a letter to the SEC in support of CII's petition on universal proxy cards. More information on CII's position on universal proxy cards can be found on our Web site.

In Case You Missed It: Teleconference on Omnicare, Inc. v. Laborers District Council Construction Industry Pension Fund Case
CII hosted a teleconference on August 20 on the upcoming Supreme Court decision in the Omnicare case, its potential implications for institutional investors and how CII member funds may get more involved. Members heard from legal experts and the author of a pending amicus curiae brief in support of the respondents in this case.

Comment Letter to PCAOB Expresses Concern over New Auditor Standard
CII sent a letter to the Public Company Accounting Oversight Board August 15 expressing surprise and disappointment over a recent report that the PCAOB has decided to dramatically weaken proposed amendments by issuing a final standard providing that “audit partners will not be required to sign the statements, but can if they want to.”
