Council of Institutional Investors Board of Directors Appoints Glenn Davis as Executive Director
Washington, D.C., Sept. 2, 2026 — The Board of Directors of the Council of Institutional Investors (CII) announced that Glenn Davis, previously serving as Interim Executive Director, has been appointed Executive Director.
“Glenn brings to the role of Executive Director his extensive knowledge of corporate governance, coupled with his strategic vision and unrivaled integrity – all of the ingredients we need for the gourmet bouillabaisse of an investor advocacy organization.” said Yumi Narita, CII Board Chair and Executive Director of Corporate Governance at the Office of the New York City Comptroller.
Davis brings more than 25 years of experience in investor protection, corporate governance, and proxy voting matters. He served for eight years as CII’s Research Director, working with CII’s board to develop member-approved recommendations on corporate disclosure and governance practices. He was named Deputy Director in 2020. His career began at the Investor Responsibility Research Center.
“America’s capital markets are the envy of the world because they are built on transparency and accountability to shareholders,” Davis said. “My goal in this new role is simple: ensure investors have the information and tools they need to hold companies accountable and keep our markets strong.”
Davis serves on several industry bodies, including the NASDAQ Listing and Hearing Review Council, the Best Practice Principles Oversight Committee and the Broadridge Independent Steering Committee. He recently completed service on the FTSE Russell Policy Advisory Board and later this year will begin service as a board member of the National Institute on Retirement Security (NIRS). Davis also co-founded the Investor Coalition for Equal Votes and currently is a member of its steering committee.
